The Davie County Amateur Radio Club was formed on 16 August, 2005. We would like to welcome any amateurs in Davie County, or surrounding counties, to attend meetings and if you are interested, become a member.

DCARC was formed for two reasons. First, there was no amateur radio club in Davie County. Since there are a number of amateurs in the county the club will provide an opportunity for those amateurs to come together to share ideas and areas of interest in amateur radio. The club will also assist non-amateurs in becoming licensed amateurs by helping them prepare for license testing, and offering testing sessions.

Second, there was a need and desire to form an ARES group in Davie County. ARES is the Amateur Radio Emergency Service, which provides communications in emergency situations. ARES now consists of approximately 80,000 licensed amateurs who have registered their availability for emergency operation in the public interest.
